

The first bottles with the name Amarone on the label were produced in the 1930s. In 1968, the area was finally awarded the DOC. Since 2010, the designations of origin "Valpolicella", "Valpolicella Ripasso", "Recioto della Valpolicella" and "Amarone della Valpolicella" are protected.

Marco Speri is the son of Benedetto Speri, the patriarch of one of the legendary winemakers in Valpolicella. In 2008 Marco created his own brand, Secondo Marco, to make wines according to his own vision. Marco's goal is to make elegant, soft wines. The end result is a very personal interpretation of the Valpolicella region.
