Josef Hofstätter founded the winery in Tramin in 1907. Today it embodies all the advantages of the wine country South Tyrol and carries the name of the traditional wine village into the world. Now in its fourth generation, the Foradori Hofstätter family cultivates an old-established and yet very contemporary wine culture. With about 50 hectares of its own vineyards, the estate J. Hofstätter is one of the largest family-owned wineries in South Tyrol. This size still allows for some manual work in the vineyard. But the careful use of the best technology is also worthwhile, especially in the ultra-modern cellar. The vineyards are located at altitudes ranging from 250 to 800 meters above sea level in a variety of terrains and climatic zones. The variety of sites allows the cultivation of different grape varieties - according to the maxim: for every vine the right site!
