Grappa di Amarone Marolo (70 cl)
Grappa is a grape marc spirit from Italy. It is distilled from the fermented alcoholic press residues of wine production, the pomace. Grappa is mentioned by name for the first time in 1451: A Piedmontese notary bequeathed a cellar with a distillation plant and large quantities of grappa to his descendants. Only distillates produced in Italy from the skins of domestic grapes are allowed to bear the name grappa. Any other distillate made from foreign pomace, even if it is produced within the national borders, is not allowed to do so.
