Picked in the traditional tea gardens on the southern slopes of the Himalayas. A Darjeeling with the characteristic sweet spice.
Darjeeling is one of the most renowned tea varieties. The region around the Indian city of Darjeeling is the centre of Bengali tea cultivation; it was also the starting point of a caravan route to Tibet and is still known today primarily for the usually very high-quality tea of the same name.
In contrast to the commercially available Darjeelings, we only use tea of the highest classification SFTGFOP1 (Special Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe) for our Purple Breeze.
Good to know...
A Darjeeling should be brewed at a water temperature of 95-98°C (leave the water in the kettle for a short time after boiling and wait until it stops boiling). The tea should only be left to steep for 2-3 minutes. The Darjeeling can develop its aroma best when the water hardness is low.
Preparation
Steep for 2 - 3 minutes
